Society for health opportunity Rehabilitation and empowerment is an integrated health and development unit of Christian fellowship (CF) Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh India. The CF is non profit, non political and non sectarian voluntary charitable organization based on democratic values. It was establish in 1953 by a group of motivation committed youth under the leadership of Dr. P A Abraham a freedom fighter. It was registered as a society under MP societies registration act 1860 in 1961 (registration no 100) and is exempted from income tax under sec. 12A of income tax act.
The CF developed health care institutions with curative and preventative services in the part of the MP as pioneer’s surgical facilities in the region for the first time in 1950s. The community oriented services had outreach program to different block covering rural tribal population in the disadvantages pockets.
To support the philanthropic activities of the society the institution developed various micro enterprises viz... Farming, animal, husbandry, poultry fished and a small industry of tyre re molding setup. Having a community living by the core group of members and associates, over the period it evolved into a cooperative of cooperatives. We visualize this is a model to develop community where right of the people are recognized and autonomy is respected and mutually work toward upliftment of all. The cooperative of endeveavor was a study subject of a postgraduate thesis submitted as a research in the commerce section of Ravishankar University, Raipur.
